Never had to do any of this before and it worked great, but hey, I'll take what I got for the moment and avoid having to purchase a new gaming laptop for 2k in the meantime. My GPU temp is 34degree so I dont want the noise from the GPU fan until the temp reaches 50degree. None of them can set the GPU fan speed below 30 (1682rpm). Tried ASUS tweak2, tweak3, and the newest version of MSI afterburner. I'm thinking there's probably still some issue somewhere. GPU driver updated to the newest version from Nvidia. I'm thinking setting the GPU temp target to 80c is primarily what worked, but means that it will try to maintain that temp by dropping GPU frequency or something, thus the drops below core performance benchmarks. I did notice the GPU core value drop below minimum from time to time, but no real noticeable issue with playability. I increased overclocking settings a bit, it held at 80c. ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 2060 EVO 12GB GDDR6 features two powerful Axial-tech fans for AAA gaming performance and ray tracing. Adjust the fans on each of your graphics cards using a more simplified. The software finds each connector on the motherboard, identifying the respective characteristics and locations of each fan that’s plugged in. Adjust the fan speed, fan curve, or simply set a profile. Click Fan Tuning on the lower-right side. ![]() I increased my in game video settings to put a higher load on the GPU and improve held at 80c. To access it, open AI Suite 3 and press the Fan Xpert 4 button. So I re-downloaded Asus GPU Tweak 2 again and for the first time I dropped over clocking down to minimum and set GPU temp target to 80c. Downloaded SpeedFan, but as with all the other software I tried that was suppose to allow tweaking of fans, it wouldn't let me do anything with fan speeds, so that didn't work. Even last night after 2nd repaste, it was hitting over 90c. Remarkably, at medium fan speeds, the Noctua edition is only slightly louder than the standard version at its lowest speed setting (21.1 vs. ![]() We simply need to find the box called Fan. It is a simple interface to navigate and you thankfully won’t have to scroll through endless menus to find what you are looking for. Temps just one day started to soar and got worse. Afterburner (and other programs like it) allows you control everything from clock speed, temperature limit, voltage as well as the speed of the fans in your system. Prior to the high temp issue, I didn't make any changes to my hardware or files, settings, etc (other than graphic card driver updates). ![]() ![]() Click to expand.I don't know, maybe I somehow made this more complicated than it needed to be?, but it now seems to be "fixed" or at least managed.
